The group of 32 participants visited a memorial park dedicated to the lives lost
during the COVID-19 pandemic, honoring the profound impact of the crisis on
the Bergamo community. With over 4,000 lives lost, the memorial serves as a
solemn reminder of the town's suffering and resilience. Participants paused
for a moment of prayer and Elisabetta Nistri offered a deep prayer for healing
and peace, reflecting on the shared grief and the importance of community
support during difficult times.
After a very good lunch offered by Mrs.Amparo De Los Reyes, a very close
member to WFWP, in her restaurant, showcasing the warmth of Italian
hospitality, Mitty Tohma took the floor to share an overview of WFWP
Europe’s goals and plans for 2024, emphasising the significance of grassroots
projects that create meaningful impacts in communities. She highlighted the
importance of generating sustainable funding and education programmes to
support the organization's growth and initiatives.
The participants engaged in dynamic discussions, breaking into small groups
to explore the three global themes and share feedback. This collaborative
approach allowed for exchange of ideas, reinforcing the commitment to
collective action and mutual support, and opened to a big sharing between
youth with their new and fresh ideas.
The meeting concluded with joyous dancing and shared meals, celebrating
the spirit of unity and a time to review future steps for the organisations
development and sustainability..
