WFWP Malta visit to St Vincent De Paul Residential Home for the Elderly

We received this lovely report from WFWP Malta about their activity on Christmas Eve 2014: Visit to St Vincent De Paul Residential Home for the Elderly Wednesday 24th December

On Christmas eve 2014, members of WFWP Malta volunteered to give their support with transportation to a number of wheelchair bound inmates at a state run senior citizens' home.

We gathered at St. Vincent De Paul residential Home for the Elderly in Luqa and were assigned two or three patients each to accompany them to the much awaited Christmas Mass at the Nativity Chapel on the premises. There, we joined in the Christmas caroling as well as sat close to and gave support to our 'adopted grandparents' for the evening. After Mass we took them to the dining room for a Christmas party where we enjoyed some lively conversations and laughter as we helped serve hot drinks and delicious Christmas cake, pudding and other goodies, so making the event a joyful one for all .

The sincere gratitude and appreciation shown by the patients made the whole experience not only enjoyable but also very spiritually rewarding. It truly proved that, ' the joy of living is in the giving'.
