WFWP Albania, UN Int’l Day of Families, Tirana/Albania, 15 May 2015
WFWP Albania sent us this report about the Family Day commemoration with the Tirana Peace Council : “About 100 ambassadors for peace, WFWP Albania core members and Family Federation members gathered on Sunday, 17 May to commemorate the UN International Day of Families. Mr.Sokol Rexhepi, UPF Albania secretary General opened the event underlining the importance of the Int’lDay of the Family and reading the message of UN Secretary General Mr. Ban Ki Moon for this day.
He was followed by a short artistic program performed by Universal Peace Academy students in Albania and local members. The main speech was presented by Mr. Katarzyna Minollari, WFWP Albania chair woman. She spoke on “Creating a Family Culture” introducing the new idea of ‘familiarchy' as an alternative way of family ruling, a system that respects the rights and responsibilities of all family members.
In the end, Hon. Gaqo Apostoli, one of the first Ambassadors for Peace appointed from Albania gave closing remarks and sang “The Power of Love” for the pleasure of all participants celebrating the Family Day. Four couples received the Ambassadors for Peace title as a reward for their excellent family life.”
