We got together in Halifax to listen a young lady's eye opening experiences in the Far East. In May Jo Spencer took 2 weeks time off from her work to journey to Nepal's Capital city, Kathmandu and an orphanage there. She went to help 150 children get ready for school each morning, and after school spent time with them for home work, arts project, evening meal, playing songs and getting ready for bed. We watched her short video and viewed her photos. She met interesting people and made new friends. People generally live simpler but much happier lives than in our West although dust and dirt is everywhere. There is no Wifi and only one hour internet as electricity is scarce. Next, Christelle Ngama gave a report of the current projects and the development of WFWP Youth in the North. She organised an African Day in Bolton College this spring and is now working with other movements to help after the Gaza conflict, Domestic Violence, and Women and Children connected issues in Bolton and Manchester. This was the first part of our coffee morning. Secondly we shared refreshments and caught up with each others experiences from our distance separated lives. It is not always easy to meet. Thank you for those who came to this meeting! Report by Fusae Spencer, WFWP North UK
