WFWP Austria - “Mother and Mission” Coffee Meeting, Sunday 6th April 2014

A report by Yoshiko Pammer:'Kathrin Ladstätter was our host for this coffee meeting – we were all welcomed into her cosy home, having trekked through an unexpected April shower, and were warmed, body and soul, by the beautiful environment that was prepared.Kathrin shared about the time her family lived in Russia, due to her husband’s mission, and touched on the ways she personally managed to overcome difficulties she experienced. She explained how through books she could feel guidance from God, and referred to the books that had especially helped her, in particular “Fascinating Womanhood” by Helen Andalin. This book helped her to realise the importance of women first finding their Inner Happiness, before their husband can really love them, and it also explained how a woman can appreciate and understand her husband. Inspired by this book, Kathrin got permission from the author to translate it into Russian, and she went on to hold many seminars on the book’s content. With just a few selected practical points to share, there was a lot of time allowed for us to discuss and share. The discussion moved into the area of sex education and the importance of creating openness between parents and children to talk clearly about it, without any sense of taboo. This lead into discussing about the general relationship between parent and child, a healthy way to discipline children, and about the unique value of the mother-daughter relationship and knowing our own family’s story/history. There were already two pairs of mother and daughter present at this meeting, but it was considered a good idea to bring mothers and daughters together at another opportunity, for honest sharing and healing. Thank you to Kathrin and everyone who came and made this a joyful and inspiring meeting!'
